FATAL ACCIDENT.
Information was received in town this morning by Mr. Allan that a waggoner in the employ of Messrs. Allan and Stumbles, named Jacob Jenkins, had been killed last evening through his waggon passing over him. Tlig deceased was employed carting fi'-om the Duntroon Railway Station to the site of a bridge being erected at Maerewlienua. Since writing the above we have received the following from om' Duntroon correspondent : —" I regret to state that a fatal accident occurred near this place last evening t,a ft man named Jenkins, a waggoner in the employ of Messrs. Allan and Stumbles. It appears that he fell under the wheel, and the waggon being heavily loaded, crushed him to de? t ch. 1 have not found out whether he has any relatives, but lie comes from the Waimate district. An inquest wi'ii probably be held to-day.
