Tfrom our own correspondent.] A meeting of the School Committee was held on Saturday Ist inst. There were present—Messrs. Botting (Chairman), Roberts (Secretary), M'Quade, Gilbert, Frater, and Howe. It was arranged to erect a school bell, and the compulsory clauses of the Education Act were unanimously adopted, the Education Board being advised to that effect, The School Committee having been appointed, the Library Trust arranged with Mr. Anderson to act as librarian, and fixed at Is Cd per quarter, payable InK advance from date. It was also resolvdtl that the Secretary apply to the County Souncil for the subsidy in aid voted some, lime since, the same to be placed to crLlit of account with Bank of New Zealand^ Some minor* matters of detail being settled, a vot£ of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
