The King of the Zulus has assembled BCOO men on the frontier. Lord Chelmsford, the Commander-in-Chief, has sent an ultimatum giving terms for submission; if neglected the troops will be immediately advanced. January 25. General Primrose is within a short distance of Chuznee. His advance from Candahar has been almost unopposed. By a boiler explosion at Agecroft, eight men were killed and a number injured. January 2G. Money is in large supply, and the mercantile demand shows no signs of revival. The bank rate for three months' bills is 2|. The reserve is slightly weaker. Business in all departments of the Stock Exchange is dull. Consols are at 9G£. The market for colonial debentures is steady. The corn market is unchanged. Bombay, Jan. 25. Heavy snow is falling at Periwar. Native public opinion is strongly in favor of the Indian Government annexing Afghanistan. A disturbance has occurred between the Russians and Chinese in Dzungaria, on the Chinese and Turkestan frontier. Yakoob Khan seized the fort and families of the chief Bakeka Khan. The other tribes of Glulzee have commenced hostilities against the British.
