SPECIAL TELEGRAMS.

(FROM OCR OWX CORRESPONDENT.) WELLINGTON. January 27. Mr. Thomson, the Surveyor-General, has charged Mr. Jackson, Chief Surveyor of Wellington, with disobedience and insubordination. This accusation Mr. Jackson denies, so a Court of Inquiry, consisting of Messrs. Fountain Gray, and Hamerton sits to-morrow to investigate the matter.

DUNEDIN, January 27. Mr, Charles Hogg, 8.A., has been appointed English and Classical Master of the Girl's High School. If Mr. Varley attempts to carry out his threat of speaking on Bible reading at the school meeting to-night there will be a great rumpus, as there is a strong organisation to put him down.
