NEWS FROM SAMOA.

(PEIt SCHOONER ACTIVE, AT AUCKLAND.) General Bartlett, who came as a succesror to Colonel Steiiiberger, was unable to secure a footing, on account of an unfavorable report. The natives are very orderly, the three Consuls not having a single case during the last three months, and four men-of-war (English, American, German and French) have visited Samoa within that time. Prospects as regard the cocoanut and cotton crops are good, but trade is overdone, and has been comparatively dull during the last month. Apia has been visited by a severe storm, which lashed the harbor into foam, but did no damage.
