A local firm has sold to a Peruvian house" 1000 tons wheat, at a price withheld. Several large sales have since l)ccn made at lower prices. Stocks are theroforo greatly reduced. AUSTRALIAN *COMMERCIAL. [BY cable.] Sydney, December 20. Case brandy, 33s to 33s 6d ; New Zealand wheat, 9s, bare ; oats, us Sd. LONDON WOOL SALES. Wellington, December 20. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report:—The wool sales closed firmly on tho 17th inst. Tlicy comprised 160,000 bales. 35,000 bales have been held over for further disposal, and 55.000 bales have been taken for export. Tho sales closed at a decline of Id to I id. Tho principal decline has boon in lambs, cross-breds and medium ; inferior, washed and scoured has declined lid to 2d. A good many second-hand parcels havo boon offered during the past week.
