As a Yearling, Young Peetce Charlie fained First Prize at Blueskin in 1576, also 'irst at Waikouaiti same year; in 1877, he gained Second Prize against all comers at the Taieri and Dunedin. Pedigree. Sire, Prince—Prince is a dark Bay, stands 16% hands high, by Prince Charlie (imported); dam, Princess Maud the First, the Champion Mare in the Colony, the winner of 18 first prizes in Scotland, and several in Victoria. Prince has gained many first prizes, and his stock cannot be surpassed. The Kyneton Agricultural four yearlings, competing against the stock of two imported horses. At a recent National Show in Victoria, a yearling filly by Prince gained first prize. He also took first prize at the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Shows of 1572 and 1573 ; and the first prize at the Blueskin Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show, 1573. A two-year-old filly by Prince, belonging to Mr. John Duncan, Cherry Farm, '\Vaikouaiti, took first prize at Oamaru in 1870, and second at Taieri the same year. Prince has an excellent temper, immense bone, good action, is a sure foal-getter, and is acknow- ; ledged by competent judges to be the Leat '. Clydesdale Horse bred in the Colon v. Grosvenor, bred by Mr. Webster in IS4S, got by Touchstone out of Miss Beverley by Stockport, her dam sister to Swinton by C'omus—Shuttle. (Stud Book, vol. —, page 246). Young Iron Duke gained the first prize t Warrnambool Show, Victoria, and first sr the Best Draught Entire exhibited, beatlg all imported and colonial bred horses on ae ground. At the Grand National Show eld at Kyneton, 1569, he gained the first rize for the best colonial bred Stallion, eating Dan O'Connell, the celebrated prizeiker, and the renowned Prince Charlie, in le class open to all comers. At the same tace he gained the first prize in IS7O, also , rst in 1572, never having been beaten in is class.
Sir Oolm Campbell's dam Diamond, bred by Mr. Paterson, Quamby, her sire Sir Colin . Campbell (imported) by James Ross, Esq., of Bishopbourne, Tasmania. Her dam \va3 the celebrated mare Blossom. Blossom's sire, Clyde, imported to Tasmania by M. Field, Esq., of Enfield. Diamond when two years old, took first prize at Westbury ; when three years old, first at Longford, and first at Westbury; when four years old, first at Westbury ; and in IS7O, first at Launceston, and first at Westbury, being six first prizes in all, never having been bc-aten in Tasmania.
