A two-year-old filly by Prince, belonging to Mr. John Duncan, Cherry Farm, Waikouaiti, took first prize at Oamaru in 1576, and second at Taieri the same year. Prince has an excellent tenrper, immense bone, good action, is a sure foal-getter, and is acknowledged by competent judges to be the best Clydesdale Horse bred in the Colony. Dam, Blossom—Blossom, got by Kettle's -'i Sir William Wallace (imported) ; granddam by Miller's Wallace (imported). Blossom gained the first prize at Biueskiu in 1872, as a yearling ; first prize at Blueskin in 1873, as a two-year-.old ; :i~ a three-year-old, was first at Palmerston aud first at Blueskin in 1574; as a four-year-old, was first at Blueskin, as a brood mare, in 1575 ; as a five-year-old, in 1576, was placed second at Palmerston, and first at Blueskin as a six-year-old in 1577, was first at Blueskin, and was also awarded first prize for the best animal in the yard.
