The Colonial wool sales opened this afternoon. The total number of bales arrived of the available series are 179,000. The first day's catalogue was fairly represented by all the Colonies, and comprise 7000. The atten-t\-vu>o of home and foreign buyers was large, and competition keen. The prices show an average decrease of about a penny per lb. The fall is strongly marked in scoured. T.eeston, Young, and Co. have failed for LIOO.OtO, also Keep, Pason, and Co., India and Australian merchants.
