WAIMATE COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS.
The polling for the election of members of the Waimate County Council created a considerable amount ci interest. For the Waiho Riding Messrs. Nfcudholmoaud Lees were returned. We have not received the poll state for the Makikihi Billing, but we learn that Mr. Studhoime has alsiTbeen returned for this riiiing, and it is believed he will take ilis seat for Makikihi. Jii any case a fresh election for one of the ridings will be necessary. The following are the numbers polled for the l/TCKP l/.'IKEK KTJU.Ni;. Manchester ... ... ... ... 257 Hayes 194 ISruce ... ... ... ... ... 120 Clement «» Messrs. Manchester and Hayes are therefore elected.
