The city is getting full of visitors. October 29. Fireball, which was backed for L 30,000 last night, is now the first favorite. Device has been backed for L 20,000, and stands at 100 to 3. Melita is now at 100. to 10, and Savanaka 100 to 8. Sydney, October 2S. The Sapphire has returned, after an unsuccessful search for the mission boats of the barque Onward. October 29. The mail steamer Australia has arrived. The steamer Bowen lias arrived at Cooktown with the Torres Straits mail.
