CRICKET.
The Excelsior Cricket Club had a very enjoyable scratch match on Saturday afternoon between sides chosen by the captain (Mr. G. Fenwick) and the deputy-captain (Mr. Cooke). Some very good play was exhibited, although most of the players were out of form. Fen wick's side won the match in one innings with 16 runs to spare, the scores being—Cooke's side : Ist innings, 35 ; 2nd innings, 27. Fenwick's side : Ist innings, 78. The bowling of Fenwiek and A.
