The whole of the associated Newcastle cialiiiasters have given notice of tinir intention to withdraw at the end of the ve.r from the present agreement relating to the price of coals. It is generally believsd that a reduction in the price will follow.
The latest news from Queensland states that the Trans-Continental Exploring Party will shortly reach Port Darwin. Thoy found the country well Sited for settlement. The railway prospectors up the M'lvor River report the country auriferous. The gold is, however, unpayable. It is suitable for stuck and sugar growing. The Rev. Mr. M'Fariane is lecturing at Cooktown. He spoke favorably of the commercial products of New Guinea.
