New Plymouth, Septembor 12. Thoro is no doubt now that the Kaiuma has boon lost. There were soven persons on board when sho was at Waitara, viz., Capt. Maude and his son, Frank Seipman, better known as tho " Professor " (he was the first man who introduced the rope-tying trick in Auckland, 14 years ago, at the Prince of Wales Theatre, and was brought down to Taranaki by Mr. Langbridgo, now of the Northern Advocate) ; Mitchell, a boy going to see his friends at Kaipara ; Sorcnson, the son of a German living here ; the mats and a Boaman, whoso namos are not yet known. Captain Maude has two sona—little children. His life was insured, but as he was not married to tho woman ho was living with, she and tho children are left destitute. He ia said to be a relative of Captain Grubb, late of the Merlin schooner, wrecked some . time ago. _____
