(FKOil OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) ©. - Dunedin, Sept. 3. The following cablegrams appear iu the Dunedin Star : London, August 29. The ratification of the treaty has been exchanged. Severe fighting continues at Jamboli between the Russians and Bulgarians. Man 3' have been killed and wounded. Sydney, Sept. 3. Severe engagements have taken place in New Caledonia. Thirty natives were killed, and many -mounded. They returned for their, dead, and were again attacked and 30 killed and many wounded. Five soldiers were killed. Seven convicts made an attempt to escape, and three of them were shot dead. Maize and potatoes are rising in. Sydney. •* Sept. 4 It is positively stated that 100 troops were killed at the last engagement at La Foa, New Caledonia, on the 29ch, but the Government deny that there has been any loss. It is believed that the friendly and hostile chiefs are in secret communication, for a geueral rising is feared 1100 troops are now in the field, and all reinforcements are being hurried to tinfront.
