The Harbor Board to-day decided to ask His Kxcolioncy the Governor to formally open tho new wharf on Friday, and to name it N.innauby wharf. The Dunedin Railway Employes Band arrived by this afternoon's train from Dunedin. They left the train, and, parading Tvne-street, aroused those whose heads were heavy with office work from their lethargy. All who were withiu hearing Were treated to some really excellent music. After the short parade, for which, although far too tdiort, we were grateful, the band played a capital maich on the railway platform, just prior to taking their departure lor Christchurch. We reckon the Dunedin Kail way Kmpknes Band oae of the very few good onei in the Colony, and praise for this is due to Major Atkinson, the leader. The Philharmonic Society's Second Concert of the seas.m will be given in the Volunteer Hall to inonow, Thursday evening 'the programme comprises Mozart's l°.th Mass and a miscellaneous selection from other composers.
