Mr. Binney reports :—Bus inrss. •>till shows a want ot animation, particularly in the flour market Transactions are very limited, onh •malt bakers' lots are moving off at Lll 10* Wheat has come forward more free y than requirements, as the millers are holding good stock-, and <ts is the highest price obtainable for good. Oats show a decline from quotations, and move slowly at 4s 2d to 4s 61. according to sample. Bran and pollard are out of the market, and there is no business to report. Potatoes, both for seed and consumption, are in demand, and th» market is hardening considerably; Canterbury sorts are selling freely at 167s ; local sorts. L 5 to L& fid. Butter is in demand, uowl qualities realise Is. Cheese. 7d to 7Jd. Hams and bacon Are in request at SJd ; bare, 7fri toSd.
