A TRIAL of SHEEP DOGS will be held at DUNTROON, on WEDNESDAY, 2nd OCTOBER, IS7S, commencing at 1(1 o'clock a.m. precisely. Intending Competitors must send in their Entries to the Secretary, Mr. E. C. Smith, Duntroon, not later than 25th SEPTEMBER, IS7B, accompanied with Entrance Fee (10s), as also coloi'r, name, aud ace of Dog entered. Places will be drawn for. There will be two (2) Classes—one for Dogs of any age, and one for Dogs aged 18 mouths and under. There will be First, Second, and Third Prizes awarded for each Class. Four sheep will be allowed for each competitor. Six hurdles to form a pen, the gate to act as a wing. Any Competitor when working his Dog must remain within (50) fifty yards of the pen! In the Trial for aged Dogs, no Dog will be allowed to start before the sheep are (i) half a mile from tho pen; (20) twenty minutes will be allowed for yarding from the time of start. In the Trial for Young Dogs, no Dog will be allowed to start before the sheep are (500) five hundred yards from the pen ; time and sheep same as for old Dogs. Prizes will be awarded accordipg to points in each Class—viz., 5 points for the beat heading; 3 points for the Dog which brings the sheep back best ; 2 points for the Dog which yards the sheep best; 2 points for the Dog best under command.
