In the interval since t*e date of our last report, the market for breadstuff's has underoae no material change, excepting tht* ..our has been sold for rather less money. whilst wheat, on the other hand, exhibit.* greater nrmness, stiahtly higher priceshaving been realised both yesterday and to day for beat samples. Supplies from the country districts by rail are still heavy, th«quantity given being 4 r 2tS bags of tl.mr and 2 674 bags of wheat. The total receipts by rail from the Ist of January to tht present time very largely exceed those of last year to the same period. On Tuesday wheat was decidedly firmer, and in some instances a sliaht advance was realised. To-day we note the sale of 6(10 haps at .sa. net Since the commencement of the week, under the influence of New Zealand advice*, oats, which had up to that time been quiet and without change, sustained a considerable advance. On Monday 450 i bags feeding were taken up at 4s. Bd.*nd 4s. KkL The advance took place on Tuesday, -nfcea at auction 3000 bushels were quitted at fia. 31&. for New Zealand milling, and 4a. lojd. and sa. 4sd. for Victorian, whilst discolored Tasmanian were sold at 4s. 9dPrivately, about 500 bags milling were taken in the afternoon. High as these prices are, there is no question but that the state of the market is Justified by the accounts received from New Zealand. To-day's business includes the sale of 600 bags stout feeding at 6s. Id.; whifat fine miffing were quoted sa. 3d. to ss. 40. A parcel of nutng barley was sold publicly yesterday at 6s. 6tt. Feeding barley was disposed of at up to sa. 4d. Maize has shared to some extent the advance of oats ; sales have been making at 4». 3d. to 4s. 10d., bat to-day the trade has not been so anxious to buy. Bran is tirm at Is. Id.; pollard at Is. 2d. and Is. 3d. We -quote Victorian oatmeal, 159; peart Jbarley, L3O per ton.
