Wellington, August 10. The County Council's Conference to-daj carried » resolution that the Counties valuation shall be triennial, subject ti oirrection for adding Crown Lands transfurred or omitted from valuation ; but 'hat the Government be requested to proWile a bye-law for taking the lands for niocl purposes both through granted and native lands. That all Chinese on goldfields actually employed in mining shall pay two pounds for miner's rights, and that a collector be appointed. That the Method of auditing Council accounts •hould be by two auditors appointed by the ratepayers.
