Ho was last seen wandering about on the beach at Shag Point. A search party has been organised, and have just started on their errand ; but grave doubts are entertained whether the poor fellow will be found alive. DUNEDT^. August fi.
I The girl Young lias boon acquitted of the charge of concealment of birth. Her counsel made a statement to the effect that- she had received every attention and kindness from her employers. This has reference to the contrary statements in the Bruce Herald and Saturday Advertiser, concerning which actions for libel have been threatened ; but the former paper has since made an explanation. The Herald and Star approve of the Electoral Bill, but the latter strongly wires doing away y.-i+h the exceptional legislation in favor of Maoris.
