MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE.

Wfci.LixoiTON, Aug. 1. At the meeting of the Conference today there was considerable discussion on the clauses relating to streets. Several notices of motion were given on the subject to bo considered, to-morrow. M,YCharters, of Sydenham, gave notice in referiua) to clause 195 that ho would, move that owners cutting up blocks os land should be compelled fo, funa and metal the necessary streets before submitting such block for sale. Notipr, \viis also given that all courts, streeis, op alleys should be absolutely closed against the passage of vi hides. Another notice was given that the present, terms streets, eo'.v.'i.u. and alleys, as used in tho Aot, are likely to lead to confusion, and that the term thoroughfare or-way should be substituted, and stringent clauses introduced relating thereto. Several notices were given regarding loans, Mr. Charter moving that the Government be asked t>> undertake the raising of such loans. Mr. Power, from the Thames, gave notice that ho would move that ebviae ii'd.o be altered so as its provide for the erection of buildings on street level, prevention of the accumulation of stagnant water in hollows, and the proper control of cellars. He also gave notice as to the question of the nuisance. A number of technical alterations were made, not involving any public interest. The. Conference then adjourned,.
