TO THE EDITOR OF THK KVENINO MAIL. Sir, —I think you were rather too severe in your remarks on female servants in last evening's paper, for we are not all so black as yon would make us out to be. There are certainly instances in this town of young girls being persuaded into leaving respectable employment by those who ought to have known better ; but these are exceptional cases, were youth and inexperience have been taken advantage of. But I think, taken as a body, we can be compared favorably with our fellow servants in any other part of the world.—l am, &c, Maggik. [We somehow feel sorry now that, when we wrote the article referred to, we were not aware of the existence of ''Mngirie " and the other •" exceptional eases " mentioned by her. Unfortunately we have never been favored by being brought int.-i contact with such; but we express our contrition if we have wounded the feelings of any worthy domestic, and our satisfaction at hearing that there are such in Oamaru.—Ed.
