Tin- whole of the profits are divided amongst the assured, and bonuses to the amount of £l>H>,ooo have already been allotted. The last division of profits took place in 1574, and the cash surplus then divided amounted to £235,000, giving additions li> poli'-ies averaging £3 per cent, per annum on the sunt assured. The bonuses paid on policies becoming claims have varied from A"l 5 per eent. on the sum assured for a policy of live years" standing to £l5O per cunt, for one nt twenty-five years' duration. Bonuses become vested additions to policies when they have been full live years in force. The profits realised during the last five years will lie ascertained and' divided as at 31st December next, and all policies issued on or before that date will be entitled to participate in the profits of quinquennium.
