COMMUNICATION WITH DUNEDIN INTERRUPTED. [from our own correspondent.] Palmerston, June 5. It has been raining heavily for the past three days, and there are no signs of the weather changing. The rivers are rising rapidly, with every prospect of floods occurring. Communication with Dunedin is interrupted, and no mails were received here from the South to-daj'. Large slips have occurred on the railway between Blueskin and Waikouaiti, and the train could not proceed along the line. The Oamaru train is not expected to return to-.jv;ght, as the embankments between Kartigi and Palmerston are subsiding.
