The Agricultural Association, after considering the letter from tho Otngo Association here respecting the. estn.blisiiment of a National Agricultural Socioty for the Middle Island on tho l>asis of the iloyal Society of England, referred tho matter to a Committee to report upon. T1 e "Board of Governors of the Canterbury College resolved to establish live open scholarships in connection with tho Girls' High .School, which is making very satisfactory progress. It is also proposed to establish twelve scholarships in connection with the Agricultural College. The Governor was this morning received by the City Council, and guards of honor were formed by tho volunteers. The weather is unsurpassably cold.
