The hint division, of prolits took place in 1574, and the cash surplus then divided amounted to £235,000, giving additions to policies averaging £3 per cent, per annum on the sum attired. The bonuses paid on policies becoming claims have varied from £ls p';r cent, on the sum assured for a policy.of live years' standing to £•150 per cent, for one of twenty-live years' duration. Bonuses become vested additions to policies when they have been full live years in force. The prolits realised during the last five years will be ascertained and divided as at 31st December next, and all policies issued on or before that date "will bs entitled to participate in the profits of fpiinquennium.
