THIS DAY. (Before T. W. Farkrr, Esq., n.M.) DRUNK AN» MKOHDKttLY. Daniel Bride was charged with having been drunk and disorderly yesterday, and was lined 10s., with the alternative of 48 hours' imprisonment. BUEAUU OF CORPORATION BYE-LAWS. John Coles was charged with committing a breach of the Corporation Byelaws by driving round tho corner of Itchen and Tees streets at other than a walking pace. The defendant admitted that lie had driven round tho corner at a trot, but said he was not aware that ho was doing wrong. Constable Joyce stated that the defendant had narrowly escaped running over a girl who was crossing over the street. His Worship pointed out that although the bye-law had been in operation some time, it had not previously been put into force, notwithstanding tlie number of vehicles which drove rapidly round that dangerous part of tho town —Bee's Corner. As this was tho lirst case of tho kind brought before him, ho would dismiss the defendant with a caution.

George Greenfield was charged by Constable Johnston with having, on the 11th insr., committed a breach of the Licensed Auctioneers' Ordinance, 1802, Amendment Ordinance, 1809, by Helling certain 'roods after the hour of nine o'clock in the evening. The "defendant admitted tlio offence, but pleaded ignorance of the law. His Worship said ho had no alternative but to inflict the penalty of LSO, but advised the defendant to memoraliso the Governor for a remission of the iino.
