AUCTION IClillS' REPORT. Mr. George Greenfield reports the sale to-day of miscellaneous articles, as follows : The attendance was fair, and bidding moderately good. A wardrobe realised L 7, and a bagatelle board Lb" IDs. A quantity of glass brought very good prices; but there ■was no sale for the wines and spirits. Mr. A. H. Maude reports that he held a sale of freehold and leasehold properties at his stores to-day. There was a large attendance. The first property submitted was Dr. "Webster's Windermere Estate, which was first offered in one lot, but the biddings not reaching the owner s figure, the property was withdrawn, and offered as three farms. The first farm ottered consisted of section 41 block X., and sections 49 and 50, block IX., Oamaru district, containing nearly 200 acres. For this farm, however, there was iu> offer, and consequently the balance was withdrawn from auction, the auctioneer stating that he would be glad to treat privately for the sale of the property as a whole with any purchaser. There is every prospect of the estate beingsold at a satisfactory price. The next lot ottered was the freehold of sections 19 and 20, block 86, Oamaru Town, unimproved. These sections, after a spirited .competition, were knocked down to Messrs. Lees and Moore at L 75 10s each. The freehold of section 17, block 12, with a fourroomed wooden house thereon, realised L2GO. The leasehold of part of section I, freehold of section 2, and leasehold with purchasing clause, for L3OO, of section 3, ail in block 23, Oamaru Town, beitig the premises recently occupied by Messrs. Fulton and Barrett, were next offered, 'lids valuable business site, in Thames-street, excited a very spirited competition, and eventually found a purchaser in Mr. Cray, for the firm of Messrs. Keid and Gray, at £2275, being at the rate of something like £401)0 per acre. Several other properties were offered, but, the bidding not reaching the vendors' ideas of value, they were withdrawn. Subsequently, 41 bags of damaged wheat were sold at from 7s lid to Ss tfd per bag.
