Thiele, P.D.D.G.M. of Freemasons, and founder of the Canterbury Lodge, occurred to-day, and was attended by about 1500 members of the order, in regalia, representing lodges in aIL parts of the Province, Special trains \pere laid on, including one from Timaru. The swampy sections in front of the Anderson's Bay road sold by Mr Montagu Pym to-day for the Harbour Board realised an annual rental of L 667, being 50 per cent, above the anticipated price. GREYMOUTH. March 30. The first batcli of 4000 salmon fry was placed in the Grey River to-day. There arc supposed to bo between 24,000 and 30,000 lively fish in the pond. The remainder will be turned out during the ensuing week.
