The U.S. Minstrels had another hamper house last evening. Thfre was an entire change in the programme, and some very eharming music was discoursed. Most noticeable in the first part of the entertainment was Mr. Braham's song "Hark the Brum," with cornet obligato and an excellent chorus. Mr. Lingard performed a Yariety of popular aire on single and dnnble tin whistles, and was loudly applauded. "The Wolf." was beautifully rendered by Mr. Amery, and Messrs. Holly, Campbell, Rockefeller, and Hudson kept the audience in roar* of laughter. The company left for Timaru thin morning, bnt announced last •Yening their intention of ro-appearing next Thursday and Friday evenings.

About 2 o'clock to-day, a little boy named Charles Lisbitt, while playing with some other boys on the open piece of ground near the dam at Messrs. Lees and Moore's, fell down in an epileptic fit. We are pleased to hear that- the hurdle racer Eclipse has changed hands, his late owner having shown a lack of appreciation of the excellence of the horse, or how to run him honestly. Mr. T. M'Kay is the purchaser, the price being LISO.
A meeting of the Stewards of North Otago Turf Club was held at the Empire Hotel last evening to consider a letter from Mr. S. Powell with reference to the refusal of H. Money to pay a bet. The ease having been substantiated, it was resolved, ,: That it having been proved to the stewards that H. Money is a defaulter, to wit, having refused to pay a het of 1/200 to 1.7 (or two hots of LIOO to 1,4 and 1,100 to 1,3) made with S. Powell, about Luna, on the Dnnedin Cup, IS7S, it was resolved that the said H. Money be warned oft" the Oainaru racecourse, and that all the clubs in the Colony be asked to endorse their decision.''
Processor Stanich the " Palestinian Aurist," announces by advertisement in another column that owing to a large accession of patients in Dunedin he is compelled to postpone his visit to Oamaru for a short time.
The monthly meeting of the County Council takes place to-morrow morning, at eleven o'clock.
Mr. Henry Driver, the agent in Dunedin for the M'Connick reaper and binder, challenges the agents of the Wood machine to a public trial, the loser to give L2.". to the Benevolent Institute.
The supplementary bazaar in aid of the Wesleyan parsonage building fund, was brought to a close last evening. There was a good attendance, and a considerable quantity of goods were disposed of. The total amount realised from Kales effected was LGS 14s. 3d. The various stalls v. crc presided over as follow :—No. 1. Mrs. Arn.itage : No. 2. Mesdames W'ansbrough, Kite, ami Garrard : No. 3, Mesdames Galbraith and Wilding; No. 4, Mesdames Robertson and Sidon. The thanks of the Wesleyan body are due to these ladies and all others who assisted in the getting up and carrying out of the bazaar for the very material aid they have afforded in the work of providing a suitable residence for the pastor of the church.
