AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS.
The following agricultural statistics for the County of Waitaki, kindly forwarded to us by Sub-Inspector Smith, were unavoidably crowded out of our last issue :
No. of holdings—Fre-lmld, 236 ; rented, 1(10 ; both. 60 ; total, 456. Extent of land broken up, but not under crop, acre-. Wheat—Sown for grain only, 33.193 acres: estimated gross produce. 1.007,986. Oat'? For green food or hay, 644 acres ; for grain, 16,896 ; estimated gross produce of grain. 673,34 5 bushels. Barley—Sown for grain only, 1121 A-acres ; estimated gross produce, 39.818 bushels. Sown grasses—Hay, acres; estimated gross produce, 1635 tons: grasses after bavin" "been broken up (including such as areiu'hav). 84.516J acres : grass-sown lands not previously ploughed (including such as are in hav), 1 acres. Potatoes—743-i acres : estimated gross produce, 4711 A tons Other Crops. 4324 A acres : total under crop (including sown grass). 144,112 i acres. Quantity of last year's croo remaining on hand—Wheat. 14,658 bushels; oats, 9322 bushels : barley. 4'i34 V>iHi*ls.
