The. Victorian crisis is ended. The Council passes the Payment of Members Bill, and Mr. Berry withdraws the vote from the Appropriation Bill. This compromise liiis been announced in both Houses. The lunatic Creswell lias been identified as Arthur Ortun. March (3. The Victorian compromise has been broken, and it is now war to the knife between ihe two Houses. The Assembly entirely ignores the Council. Mr. Guldie makes grave charges against Captain EUangowns, of the mission steamer, of neglecting the besieged mission. The He v. Mr. M.'Farlane is also blamed.
