Aitken against Mr. .1. Hooley for the recovery of commission for the sale of the Shamrock liot-I. Judgment v.v.s given for plaintiff for 1/25. Mr. Hislop appeared for the plaintiff and Mr. O'Meagher for the defendant. In the Ilc.-ident Magistrate's Court to-day, a case was brought by the Waitaki lload Hoard under the Public Health Act against Mr. A. I'aterson, charging him with continuing a nuisance by keeping p:gs near the Town Boundary. Mr. O'Meagher, v. ho appeared for the defendant, ad.'i)it;ed the charge, but stated that his client had endeavoured to remedy tiie nuisance, and would undertake to have it abated within a few days. After a short discus-ion, the Magistrate made an order on the defendant to have the nuisance abated within 1-t days, and to pay one guinea co-ts.
