DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING.
On Saturday the firing for the district prif.es was commenced by the Citizen ' Cadets. The iirst squad fired in the" morning, under the command of Captain ; Morton, of the Artillery Corps ; the second lot firing in the afternoon, under the command of Major .Steward. The conditions were—loo, 1200. and JJOO yards ; live shots at each ; any position. The weather was highly favourable, but the scoring was not quite up to the average. The following are the scores :
