OTEPOPO ROAD BOARD.
© The monthly meeting of this Board was held ..a Friday, the 212 nd inst. Present Messrs. Anderson (Chairman). Henderson (Treasurer), Falconer, M'Donald. Marshall, Darrocb, and Mitchell. The ininutos of the ratepayers' and also of the Hoard's last meeting were read and confirmed. Tlio outward correspondence was read and approved. Mr. James Little wrote regarding a. road to hia properly in block VIII.--It.'Solved that it, lie over til! next meet he.'. Mr. Falconer moved that (lie Clerk apply to the Minister of I'nblie Works for thii'teen copies each of the Acts of I,H ( (i that are incorporated with the Counties Act. Seconded by Mr. Marshall. A hitter was received from the County Council /•'.' Hanger's salary. The Clerk was instructed to acknowledge- ils iveeipt, and to point out that the half of the salary is Li'2 10s., whereas only 810 had been'voted. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Kakanui Harbour Hoard, asking them to reduce the grade of the pinch leading to the wharf'; and also to Mr. Mnrneit (Resident Engineer), drawing liis .attention to the necessiiy of having the road from the goods-shed, Herbert, to the gate gravelled. In order to comply with t)u; provision.-; of the 'Ratine; Act, Mr. Falconer moved, and Mr. M ; Donald that the County Valuer be appointed Valuer for the Hoard for the year ending March 111, IST'.). The Clerk was instructed to ask tho Council under what Act or authority they proclaimed the road from Maheno to Kakanui port a County road, in tho face of the Board's written opposition thereto. Messrs. Falconer and Mitchell were appointed a. Finance Committee'. One account was passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
