NORTHERN AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

A general meeting of the Committee was held this afternoon, in the Secretary's office. Present—Messrs. T. G. I)uiio;in (chairman), Steward, MacLiennan, Morton, Mitchell, Henderson, Orr, Falconer. Mr. Dunlii]) moved, and Mr. Falconer seconded, tli.it a Sub-committee,consisting of Messrs. M'Lennan, Orr, Morton, Duncan, and Henderson, with power to add to their number, bo appointed to lix the time and place for a competitive trial of reapers and binders—t'le date to be fixed as near as possible to the 28th inst.—the said committee to make all the necessary arrangements for carrying out tho trial.— Carried. On the motion of Mr. Steward, seconded by Mr. Henderson, it was agreed that the first prize be a gold medal, of the value of Lo 5s ; and that the second be a silver medal. No second prize to be awarded unless there are thv<.V: competitors. Jt was also agreed that the prizes be awarded by ballot, all bund jiilr agriculturists present at the trial to have a vote. IN'CORI'OKATIOX OK THE ASSOCIATION. The Sub-Committee appointed some time ago to consider tho advisability of bringing the Association under the Act for incorporation of such societies, reported verbally to the effect that it was desirable ; and it was resolved to appoint the following gentlemen to take the necessary steps to effect the object, viz., the two Vice-Presidents, Mr. Steward, and tho Secretary. After passing an account for payment, the meeting closed.
