i • ' [BY TELEC4RAPH.] Christchurch, January 23. The cricket match was resumed this ' morning, the weather being fine, but ' dull. The ground was rather wet. There ! were very few spectators present. T- : e remainder of the Canterbury team were disposed of as follows ; W. Frith, b Kendall 2 ! E. Fowler, c niackkam, b Kendall ... 8 J Fuller, b Spofforth 6 5 C. Frith, h Spofforth ~, ... ... 1 Lee, not out ... ... ... ... 12 Total 135 The Australians then entered upon " their second innings with 89 runs to the " bad. The two B uinermans were the first ' to appear at, the wickets. When the adjournment for lunch took place the two k Bannermans were out, A. Bannerman " having made 11, and C. Bannerman 25. ' 4.15 p.m. ' The game was resumed after lunch. ' Horan and Spofforth being at the wickets. k Runs came pretty freely, and a change of 1 bowling was deemed necessary. Horan was neatly (? nearly) run out in the first k over after the bowling was changed. The " change proved effectual, Lee bowling Spofforth with the second ball in his second over. 3—10—61. Charles Frith relieved Fuller in the bowling, but runs are coming very slowly. The score now > stands as follows : A, bannerman, b Fuller ... ... ... 11 C Bnnnerrnaii, cE.
