THIS DAY. (Before T. W. TAiiKKii, Esq., H.lt.) DIiCN'K AND JVtSOIiitEKT.V. "William Copeland, charged with having been drunk and disorderly in Thamesstreet last evening, was lined 20s. Sill< IOTI \'o AND WOUNDING. James Scott, a lad about 17 years of age,.was charged with having oil Christmas Day, shooting and wounding a lad named
Michael Vail, with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Sub-Inspector Smith appeared for the prosecution, and Mr. o'Meagher for the accused.
.Sub-Tnspector Smith stated that the
boy Vail was confined to his bed, and was likely to bo so for four or five days. He would not bo able to appear for a week. Under these circumstances he applied for a remand. Mr. (J'Meagher said he would otter no objection to an adjournment, and applied for bail.
Dr. Fleming was called, and stated that | at present the boy Vail was doing very well, and was not- in any immediate danger. He was not, however, fit to attend the Court, and would not be fulsome days. Unless erysipelas set in he did not apprehend any danger. He did not think ho would be able to appear f >r about a week. His Worship remanded the case until this day week, and granted bail—the accused's guardian in LOO, and two sureties of LyO eav-h. I.KTTiNiJ Oi-T n KKWOKKS. ; Andrew Hays, a lad of about i < years j of age, charged with letting oft" fuv.works j in Thames-street last evening, pleaded j guilty, and was lined K>s. j NUISAM'K. | His Worship gave his decision on the j charge preferred by the Inspector o| j Nuisances against \\ illiam. Aitken, fori permitting a nuisance to ea.ist on pro- j miscs, for the owner ot which lie was the I agent. Ilis Worship said he must dismiss ' the case. ;
