The Assembly has adjourned to the sth February. Several important measures remain undealt with. The Postmaster-General asked the Council to restore the Payment of Members Bill to the Paper, to be dealt with on its merits. The Government lias not yet indicated what course they intend pursuing respecting the Appropriation Bill. Sydney, December 21. A telegram from the Secretary to the Famine Fund at Madras states that in consequence of the favorable prospects collections may cease. The total subscriptions from all sources amount to L 890,000.
