Samson, Captain Jones, steamed for Dunedin at 8 o'clock last evening with 40 tons cargo and a number of passengers. The topsail schooner Pelican, Captain Campbell, arrived yesterday afternoon from I'eloras S.mnd, with 47.600 ft timber, consigned to Galbraith and Co. "ihe Oamaru and Dunedin Steamship Company's s.s. Waitaki, Captain Edie arrived alongside the Breakwater at 1.30 p.m. to-dav. She left Port Chalmers at S am, and "experienced a heavy head sea up the coast, with a thick fog. She brings 74 tons of cargo and 37 passengers, and will leave on her return trip at the usual hour to-morrow.
