SPECIAL CABLEGRAM.
♦ (feoji our own correspondent.) Dunedin, December 20. The following special cablegram has been received by the Star: — London, December 17. Osman Pasha has committed suicide, it is supposed by poison, owiug to the Moslem objection to capitulation. Parliament meets in January,' which is unusual, and is construed to consider decisive action against Russia. 8000 men have assembled at Pesth to operate against Russia. The Austrian Ministers refused to receive a deputation, and a riot ensued. The Chamber of Deputies at Constantinople elected a Christian President. The Czar was received by 70,000 troops at Plevna.
