A FEW QUESTIONS.
TO TUB EDITOR OF THE EVENING MAIL. Sik,— Fr< ni my tub I looked upon the m$ sight of si-vni municipal gentlemen, Councillors' banker, &c, disporting themselves gaily in } air-horse waggonette, buggies, &c. I don't wish to be inquisitive (being only prompted by feelings in my pocket), but were those gentlemen together in those vehicles on public business I I presume they were, as I have a sort of idea that unless massed in the cause of common good, they are not a particularly happy family. If they were, are t":e suffering ratepayers to find the " necessary 7 ' for this day's doings 1 If they must. I ask why did not the Councillors travel in a lesser number of buggies, as they had any amount of room in each for more? And what on earth do they want to travel in buggies at all fori Perhaps they were visiting the Water-works, and giving the contractor the benefit of their vast knowledge (Councillor Gibbs is good on water of any kind), or may be they were on a holiday excursion, sacrificing their time and money for the good purpose of giving the town an air of gaiety. If so, where were the Town Clerk, Inspector of Nuisances,, and. other officers ? I shall be glad to know if the worthy Councillors paid for the trip.—l am, &c, Diogeves.
