Vv.hI tobe is a dark bay horse, 7 yours old, standing ly hands 3 inches high, with great leiif'th, substance, and quality, and was one /«f the fastest liorses that ever raced in Victoria. The fact that he has got Pantaloon blood in his veins is a great recommendation, for it is questionable if better flows in any animal's; the very best runners and the grandest specimens of the thoroughbred are <lescended from Pantaloon, whose blood cannot be excelled. The value of Pantaloon blood is undeniable, having furnished so many proofs, not alone as to speed and staying, but also as a running strain, for although some others occasionally produce one or two first-class animals, still, few can compete with that in question as to number. For high breeding, good true racing action, honesty and gameness, with speed of remarkable brilliancy, Pkktobe has no equal, and Thoroughbred Mares put to him should breed good racehorses. Nimble foot, Strop, Melbourne, Adelaide, and others, have placed many a good ilat race to his credit; Prodigious, Lone Hand, Saucepan, Quicksilver, and many others, have shown us what his descendants are capable of over a country ; and for general purposes they are unsurpassed, as they inherit all their sire's soundness of wind and limb. Mr. Tait has often told me that the best constitutioned horse he ever owned was Melbourne ; and this being one of the chief characteristics of Panic's stock, he is well worthy of liberal patronage from breeders."
