The animal meeting of the nieniboru of the O.unaru Ccricket Club was held on Saturday evening at the Uoval Hotel. Some discussion took place upon thu." last part of the report, but it was limaliy agreed to hold an eiiterlaiiiiuetit. the arrangements for the name to be left to the Sub-Committee. The Chairman made a statement in reference- to the new cricket ground leased by the Club from Mr. Procter. He said that a pavilion hid been erected, and other works carried out at a cost of about Ll7O. Subscriptions had been raised to' the amount of L2OO, mainly through the exertions of the lion. Treasurer, Mr. F. Fun wick. The Sub-Committee suggested 1 that L 25 should bo voted by the Club. to> the ground fund, and that an enl wince fee of one shilling should be charged nonmembers attending the ground on i\>ruign match days, or when appointed v y tho General Committee. At the request of the Sub-Committee, it was decided to leave the management of the ground in their hands for two months longer.
The Chairman having ivad a number of rules drafted by the Committee, they -were considered and adopted with amendments, and ordered to be printed in conjunction with the rules of the game as played by the Marylebone Club. The lion, 'ireasuror then read the annual balance-sheet, showing that the receipts had been L 65 Bs. 9d., and the expenditure L 62 lis. 6:1., leaving a i.;t!=ii)ce to the credit of the Club of L2 17s. 4d. The balance-sheet was adopted. The election of office-bearers was then proceeded with, the following being the result :—President, the Hon. H. J. Miller; Vice-President, Mr. John Burton ; hon Secretary, Mr. M'Donald ; hon. Treasurer, Mr. Tempest ; Committee, Messrs. Sumpter, F. Fenwick, Millington, Holdsworth, De Lautour, L-'niott, and Bennett.
The selection of a Match Committee •was left to the Ceneral Committee. The hon. Treasurer read letters from the Dunedin and Palmerston Clubs, requesting that dates should be fixed for the matches with those clubs. He said he had replied that about the latter end of February or beginning of March would be the most convenient time for the Oamaru Club.
The Chairman having invited an expression of opinion as to whether any portion of the expenses of the team chosen to piny against the clubs of other towns should be paid from the Club's funds, a lengthy discussion took place. It was ultimately dtcided to leave the matter to the discretion of the Committee.
