THE LOSS OF THE AVALANCHE.
LIST OF PERSONS KILLED. (iJY CABLEGRAM.) Lomiox, September 24. The inquest on the bodies washed ashore from the Avalanche has terminated, the jury returning an open verdict. Wellington, September 30. Sir J. Vugol telegraphs the following list of names of persons lost in the Avalanche, besides t'lose whose names have been already wired, viz. : Chief Cabin : Messrs. T. W. Walton, H. J. Noale, W. C. Stow, A. Montgomerie, William W. Barnett, Dr. R. Far mar and son. Second cabin : Annie and Mary Spreadbora, Alex. Kelly, C. J. H. Btickman, J. C. Chamberlain and wife, G. Brobiu and son, W. Whitaker, John Winter, John R. Winter, L. D. Kirbey, John Graham, J. F. Soinerville, George Kern, James Wilson and wife. Steerage: Fred. Lee, G. F. G. Smith, Win, Edmonson and wife, G. A. Blythe, Charles Lysaght, Charles Currey, Max Worthein, John Bishop, A. Hernule, W. Charles Stock, Mrs. Louisa Peterson, N. A. Cinworthy, James Maxwell, Frederick Low. The following took passages, but did not go :—E. Milland, J. Evans, and P. Wooderin.
