Dunedin, September 29. A Star special message Fays : —"London, September 27tli, night. Mehemet Ali has totally defeated the ("zarewitch at Biela. The Prussians lost 12,000 meu and 2,000 prisoners. "There has been desperate fighting with varying success before Plevna. The total def'-at of Osman Pasha is looked for unless support be given him."
