SPECIAL TELEGRAMS.

(feom our own correspondents.) <3> DUNEDIN. September 18. The gale still rages furiously, but no damage has as yet been done to the Port. A report was brought there early in the forenoon that a boat had been seen to capsize off Palling Point, and a man clinging to its bottom. A steamer was sent from the Port, but no sign could be f mud of either the man or the boat. Fears are entertained that the boat was ballast-laden, and has sunk. A man named North, a settler at Portobello, who went across the bay in the morning, is reported as missing.
