THIS DAY. ! (Before T. W. Parker, Esq., R.M.) DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Richard Broch, alias Timothy Hughes, "was charged with having been drunk and disorderly yesterday, and was discharged with a caution. VAGRANCY. John Madden was charged, on remand, with having no lawful visible means -of support. After prisoner had called one witness to show that he had been employed lately on board the Easby, his Worship read him a severe lesson upon his mode of living. He also pointed out that prisoner had been twice before the Court on serious charges, and although the evidence on those occasions was not s'.rong enough to obtain a conviction, the circumstances were extremely suspicions. There could be little doubt that- the accused was in the habit of preying upon persons for the time being unable to protect themselves. He ordered prisoner to be imprisoned in the Dunedin Gaol for one month. .ANOTHER CASE. Frank White was charged with having no lawful visible means of support. The accused having called a witness to prove that he had during the past fortnight earned L2 9s. Cel., liis Worship dismissed the case. LUNACY. John Hinchy, charged with bsing of unsound mind, was remanded for medical examination.
