MINISTERIAL CAUCUS.
(by tblegraph.) Wellington, August 24. At a meeting of the Government party, to-day, there were 4~> members presenr. Five known supporters wen; absent through various causes. Mr. Seymour was in the chair. The Premier seated the views of the Government. They considered that the following Bills must be passed, viz. Education, Census. Land, District Railways, Rating Amendment, Counties Amendment, Municipal Amendment, Harbour Boards, Merchant Shipping, Inscription of Stock, Revenues, Surveys, Reserves, and also several important measures referred to Sdest Committees, including the Fencing Bill, &c. As to other Government measures, Ministers desired that they should be passed, if possible. These comprise the Friendly Societies, Charitable Institutions, Misdemeanants, Constabulary, Forest Trees Planting Encouragement, Destitute Persons, Industrial and Provident Societies. A resolution was unanimously adopted. approving generally of the action of the Government, and pledging the meeting to support them in passing the necessary measures as soon as possible.
